Methodology

Selection
The companies with the most selections to the CSI MarketGrader China 200 Index since its inception in 2007 make up the constituents of the MarketGrader China New Elite 30. All 30 selections are maintained in the index provided that they have been selected within the last two years (four rebalance periods). If any company is deleted from the index because it hasn’t been selected to the CSI MarketGrader China 200 Index within the last two years, the next company with the most selections to that index replaces it. Any replacement company must be rated 50 or higher by MarketGrader in order to be eligible for selection.

Equal Weighting
All index constituents are equally weighted every time the index is rebalanced. No weight modifications or adjustments are made to the index between rebalance periods.

Liquidity
All index constituents must have a minimum 3-month daily traded value of RMB 14 million and at least RMB 350 million in aggregate trading volume in the trailing 12 months preceding the index selection date, consistent with the requirements of the underlying index, the CSI MarketGrader China 200 Index.

Diversification

Rebalance Discipline
The index is reconstituted and rebalanced twice a year on the next trading day after the close of trading on the second Friday in June and December. Its rebalance is done concurrently with the rebalance of the CSI MarketGrader China 200 Index.

Strategy

The MarketGrader China New Elite 30 is a selection of the 30 companies that have been selected to the CSI MarketGrader China A-Shares 200 index the most times since that index’s inception on December 31, 2007. It is therefore a collection of the most consistent creators of shareholder value among China’s domestic equity market, irrespective of size, sector, listing venue or affiliation with the State. Its goal is to serve investors as a concentrated strategy portfolio seeking long-term capital appreciation.
